Notebook needed for university - gaming, producing, and studies (uk)

Hey guys. I've been wondering what notebook I should buy for when I go to University in September. I live in the UK, and have been tempted by the Alienware 14, the ASUS G750JX and the Macbook Pro Retina. I want a device that will be able to cope with next generation of games at high performance, and something which will be beneficial for producing on (software involves Ableton, Logic Pro etc). General FAQ 1) What is your budget? ?1,000-?1,600 (or $1540-$2460 for you guys in the US) 2) What size notebook would you prefer? 14"-17" 3) Where will you buying this notebook? United Kingdom 4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? a. Like: ASUS, Alienware, Apple, but I'm open to any brand. If it works well then it works well. 5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed? No - I would like it brand new out of the box. 6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? Gaming (High and low intensity games), Producing, DJing, studying and general internet stuff. 7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? Both, I will be taking it to lectures, and it will be on my desk in my flat when I'm not going places - this is what makes me hesistant about the 17" - can anyone tell me how much of a hassle this is the carry about? 8) Will you be playing games on your notebook?
