Kodak to Sell Off Its Film Business

In order to pay back creditors and survive as a company focusing on printing, Kodak is looking to sell its film business, the Wall Street Journal reports. Kodak?s patent portfolio is also for sale, along with several other of its businesses, including photo kiosk commercial scanning.

This might not be the end of the world for users of Kodak?s products and services, though.

?As we move forward with the potential transition of these businesses to new ownership, we will ensure that our customers continue to enjoy the same great products, services and support that they have come to expect from Kodak. (?) Kodak has successfully sold businesses in the past with a seamless transition for customers,? claims Kodak.

South Korean Court Rules Samsung and Apple Infringed on Each Other?s Patents

In the next chapter of the ongoing Samsung-Apple patent war, a South Korean court has ruled that Apple is guilty of infringing on two of Samsung?s patents, ordering the company to pay Samsung some $35,400 in damages. The court found that Samsung also violated Apple?s ?bounce back? patent but not the iPhone design.

Google Goggles Now Works on Smartphones Without Autofocus

Google has updated its Google Goggles to version 1.9, bringing support for devices without autofocus. This means that even folks with cheaper smartphones will be able to search simply by pointing their camera to a QR code, painting, famous landmark, barcode, product, storefront, or a popular image.
